Welcome to [c]Le Camp Avancé![/c] A space designed as a high-level training hub with real tools to help you improve, whether you're a pro or passionate :)

✦ facilities

To [u-2]train[/u-2] hard, or easy

While the gym is focused on progression and high-level performance, that doesn't mean it's only for pros. It is open to everyone.

Please note that Le Camp d'Approche gym is directly connected by a tunnel... it's a real rabbit warren in here! It is therefore perfectly possible to go there to warm up or do part of your session (please note that the opening hours are not the same, so be sure to check them beforehand).

Information on levels and route setting

Le Camp Avancé is designed for experienced climbers, featuring demanding routes inspired by competition climbing. The approach to climbing, working on routes, and progression is quite different from what you would typically find in a bouldering gym.

Here, you will work on routes at your limit, and reaching the top is not an end in itself. Every session should be approached as a training session. There are fewer routes set, meaning fewer attempts per level. It is also a less consumption-oriented approach, more focused on understanding movement.

With walls reaching 4.5m high and demanding, competition-style routes, you are entering a true competition arena. The level and quantity of routes are not fixed; they vary based on events, simulations, and more.

The calendar below allows you to check the level of the routes currently set.

✦ connected board

Kilter board

The Kilter board is an adjustable-angle wall with connected holds! With hundreds of routes available for all levels, it’s a powerful training tool that’s accessible to everyone.

The golden rule: only one person climbing at a time. Courtesy and respect are key so that everyone can enjoy themselves :)

Access for [c]youth[/c]

  • Teens aged 12 to 16 (inclusive)

For teens aged 12 to 16 who wish to climb independently, a valid parental consent form must be on file in your member account.

[u-2]Route setting[/u-2] schedule

Route setting at the Camp Avancé varies depending on the events taking place; there is no standard color-coding system as you might be used to.
The minimum difficulty level is generally quite high (purple-red Camp de Base), but events can occasionally shake things up. The current setting level is updated in the schedule.

El Pelo (MOF 2024)

Walls and boulders worthy of a World Cup circuit [u-2]but without the clock[/u-2], and the bar at the end of the mat.

✦ café restaurant

For a delicious daytime treat

Connected by a secret tunnel is "Bon matin," a cute little neighborhood café that also serves food. Everything is carefully prepared, organic, and seasonal—perfect for combining with a family outing or a spontaneous visit!

  • Coffee, tea & soft drinks
  • Breakfasts
  • Seasonal lunch
  • Sweet treats
  • Remote work
  • and other delights!

Good coffee, good food, good mood.

First visit to Le Camp [c]Avancé[/c]

Bouldering is a fun, athletic activity for everyone. To help you plan your visit and ensure a pleasant, respectful experience for all, here is our guide to getting started on the right foot:

With two rooms in the same building, it's a bit like a rabbit warren in here.

There are two possible entrances, depending on the following times.

Before 5 p.m. on weekdays: access via Le Camp d'Approche, rue du Vivier 53, 1050 Ixelles
After 5 p.m. on weekdays and on weekends: access via Le Camp Avancé, rue de Theux 107, 1050 Ixelles

To climb in our gyms you need to create a member account, even for a trial session or if you are accompanying someone who is a regular. Registering online saves you from having to do it on-site and helps our front desk staff :)

Le Camp Avancé isn't just for pros; it's open to everyone.

However, this gym is intended for climbers who already have some experience. A minimum skill level of "Camp de Base purple/red" is required to make the most of it. The difficulty of the boulder problems varies depending on the events; please check the calendar to see which levels are currently available.

✓ The Kilter Board offers boulder problems for all skill levels!

✗ Climbing shoe rentals are not available on-site.

Le Camp Avancé is not open to children under 12; however, Le Camp d'Approche right next door is specially dedicated to them :)

Teens aged 12 to 16 inclusive are welcome to climb independently, provided they have parental consent.

> Obtain parental consent

Liquid chalk is recommended when used sparingly to minimize dust in the gym.
Powdered chalk is permitted, provided it is used mindfully and in a controlled manner (place your chalk bag on the floor rather than dropping it, avoid applying chalk with vigorous movements that spread particles into the air, and try gripping harder instead of reapplying ;) )

Wearing a T-shirt, top, or sports bra is mandatory.
